  • WHAT IS INCLUDED INTO THE CERTIFICATE OF CURRENT PROFESSIONAL STATUS AND GOOD STANDING?

This is one document that consists of two parts. It includes information regarding compliance (also called “Certificate of conformity”) of your education with the European Directive 2005/36/EC (Article 24 – for doctors; Article 34 – for dentists). “Good standing” part includes information about criminal and/or administrative offences.

  • CAN I SUBMIT DOCUMENTS ELECTRONICALLY?

Documents are not accepted electronically. You must submit copies of all documents and the originals must be presented at place. We accept a certified true copies (needed a validation by notary) of a documents sent by post.

The only exception – certificate on (non)non convictions (police report), that is issued as electronically signed document. If the statement is issued electronically with a secure electronic signature, it must be forwarded in the way it was received (as .eDoc) to migration@arstubiedriba.lv and  it does not have to be submitted in printed form. All other documents must be submitted on place. If statement is issued in paper form, it must be submitted on place along with other documents.

  • DO I NEED TO SUBMIT REGISTRATION CARD IN PAPER FORM FROM HEALTH INSPECTORATE?

No. Currently registration card in paper form is not requested, but you must be on the Health Inspectorate’s register. Graduates of 2021 – please follow conditions that must be done, so University can be able to register you in Health Inspectorate.

  • HOW CAN I KNOW THAT I AM INCLUDED IN THE HEALTH INSPECTORATE’S REGISTER?

https://registri.vi.gov.lv/rap  please type your surname in the box Personas uzvārds: (the box Identifikators: remains blank; put a tick that you are not a robot) and make sure that you’re a included in the register. Certificate of current professional status and good standing is issued only afterwards you are included in the register.

  • HOW MUCH DOES A CERTIFICATE OF CURRENT PROFESSIONAL STATUS AND GOOD STANDING COST?
Certificates are originally issued in Latvian45,67 EUR
Additional certificate in English+ 14,50 EUR ( In total 60,17 EUR for 1 Latvian and 1 English exemplar)
Additional copies in English or Latvian+ 4,20 EUR/ per exemplar

  • WHO MAY SUBMIT DOCUMENTS AND RECEIVE THE CERTIFICATE?

Copies of documents may be submitted by any other person if he can present ALL originals. If documents are submitted by an authorized person, presenting a certified Power of Attorney – he must present all originals of documents (except passport – needed only copy of passport) of person whom will be issued certificate of current professional status and good standing.

However, the certificate may be received only by person whom Certificate has been issued or an authorized person, presenting a certified Power of Attorney.

  • CAN THE PREPARED CERTIFICATE BE SENT ABROAD?

Yes. Documents can be sent to your given address. Letter is sent with tracking reference number to specific person. If you know that you will not be at home at the time of delivery of the letter, you can indicate another recipient in the application form (there can be only one name on letter).

  • HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO ISSUE A CERTIFICATE OF CURRENT PROFESSIONAL STATUS AND GOOD STANDING?

Certificates are issued within two weeks of submission of all documents (document package is not full until you are included in the register of Health Inspectorate).

  • HOW LONG IS CERTIFICATE OF CURRENT PROFESSIONAL STATUS AND GOOD STANDING VALID FOR?

Certificates are valid for three months from the date that they are issued.

  • HOW CAN I KNOW MY CERTIFICATE IS READY?

You will receive an email informing you that the certificate is ready.

  • HOW CAN I RECEIVE CERTIFICATE OF CURRENT PROFESSIONAL STATUS AND GOOD STANDING?

Prepared certificates are available for receiving at Latvian Medical Association in person, presenting a passport or ID cards or an authorized person, presenting a certified Power of Attorney on Skolas street 3, later they can be sent by post. If in the case you had indicated in the application form that you want to receive it by post, but at the time of the confirmation letter you are still in Latvia – you can come in person to receive a statement.
